Student health and learning are linked. That's why members of the Sonoma Valley Unified School District's (SVUSD) board of trustees created a comprehensive policy to promote healthy eating and physical activity for district students.
SVUSD's Wellness Policy helps to foster the overall health of the school district community by creating a variety of educational opportunities to establish life-long healthy eating habits and physical activity.
Meanwhile, the Sonoma Nutrition and Physical Activity Advisory Council (SNAC) works toward implementing the Wellness Policy at the site level by acting as the liaison between the Food & Nutrition Services Department and the school sites.
SNAC is composed of teachers, principals, staff, administrators, parents, community members, and school board members.
